2007 Distinguished
Corporation/Foundation Award:
The Boeing Company
In recognition of The Boeing Company's contributions to the University, Truman has bestowed its 2007 Distinguished Corporation/Foundation Award on the aerospace company. The award was announced at the annual Foundation Banquet held on campus April 14.
Boeing is one of the University's largest corporate donors, and its partnership with the University provides numerous benefits for students. The internships the company offers to students are often a gateway to securing career opportunities with the company, and nearly 250 Truman graduates are employed at Boeing in areas such as finance and accounting, information technology, supplier management, procurement and software engineering. Boeing representatives also come to campus to share their experiences and expertise with students in the business and accountancy and math and computer science classrooms.
In addition, Boeing has hosted multiple special events on behalf of Truman State University at the company's St. Louis facilities, including activities for alumni, admissions and the Truman State University Foundation Board, and the company offers a matching gift program for contributions that its employees make to Truman.
Boeing is the world's leading aerospace company and the largest manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft combined.
