Dennis Buda

Dennis Buda is president of J. Ross Publishing, a business book publisher. He has over 25 years of professional publishing experience with companies such as Williams and Wilkins, Thieme, Mosby and CRC Press.

As a marketing executive, he has been involved in a number of corporate restructurings and was instrumental in successfully turning around unprofitable operations. In 1991, he started his own company (St. Lucie Press), grew the business over several years and sold it to Information Holdings (a Warburg Pincus venture capital firm). He then became President and CEO of CRC Press, IHI's largest holding. While there he integrated his former company into CRC operations, restructured CRC and returned it to profitability, purchased other publishing assets and was part of the corporate team involved in the public offering of IHI on the NYSE.

Buda received a B.S. in biology from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) in 1969 and an MBA from George Washington University in 1978. He is also a former member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists where he held a certification in Cytotechnology. During the seventies, he served in the U.S. Army and upon completion of active duty worked in biomedical research and development for a subsidiary of Becton Dickinson, where he developed and patented an antibiotic assay.

He resides in Gainesville, Fla.
