Sarah (Hartmann) Burkemper serves as the public administrator for Lincoln County and is a certified public accountant in Troy, Mo. She was first elected as the public administrator in 1996, and she was re-elected in 2000 and 2004. She became a registered guardian in 2000. Burkemper is also a graduate of the CORO Women in Leadership program.

Sarah was a Pershing Scholar at Truman and graduated cum laude with two bachelor's degrees from Truman in 1992 and later received a master's degree from Truman. She was named the Outstanding Graduate Student in Accounting by the Business and Accountancy Division in 1992 and went on to receive a master's degree from Washington University in 1997.

She is a past president of the Truman State University Board of Governors and was named Truman's 2006 Alumna of the Year. A resident of Troy, Mo., Sarah is an active member in the Trinity Lutheran Church.  She and her husband, Ben, are the parents of three children.

Sarah was appointed to the Foundation Board in 2005.
