Lloyd Cleaver
Lloyd
Cleaver, of Kirksville, Mo., has served the Kirksville
community as a private practice physician/dermatology
specialty since 1986. He is certified in General Practice,
Mohs Micrographic Surgery, and Dermatology. In addition, he
is a member of the faculty at Kirksville College of
Osteopathic Medicine, where he also serves as chair of the
Division of Dermatology, as well as associate dean for
Continuing Osteopathic Medical Education and Alumni Issues.
From 1982 to 1985, he was a clinical instructor at the University of California in Irvine. He completed a rotating internship at Navy Hospital in San Diego, Calif., and in 1982 was awarded a Burroughs Wellcome Research Fellowship, one of seven awarded in the United States. From 1979 to 1982, Cleaver completed his residency at Navy Regional Medical Center in San Diego, Calif.
Cleaver was awarded the A.T. Still Staff Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1992. He was elected as one of the Missouri Jaycees Ten Outstanding Young Americans in 1989, an award for which he was nominated again in 1990. He has served on the board of the American Cancer Society and was honored with the organization's 1989 Lifesaver of the Year Award.
He currently serves on the American Osteopathic Association's Committee on Postdoctoral Training and as chairman of the American Osteopathic Foundation's Advisory Board. He is past president of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and served as vice president of the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology.
Cleaver
received his bachelor of science degree from Truman State
University in 1972 and graduated from Kirksville College of
Osteopathic Medicine in 1976.
