Anne (Westlake) Elsberry
Anne
(Westlake) Elsberry earned her bachelor of science in
education, magna cum laude, from Northeast Missouri State
Teachers College (now Truman State University) in 1964. She
received her juris doctorate from the University of
Missouri-Columbia.
In 1999, she was initiated into the Missouri Chapter of the Order of the Coif. Elsberry practiced law in Moberly, Mo., for 16 years with the Hunter, Chamier, Lee, Elsberry and Brown law firm. She moved to the Kansas City area in 1991 and became a partner with the law firm of Lathrop & Northquist (now Lathrop & Gage). In 1994 she joined Westlake Hardware, the retail hardware chain founded by her grandfather, as a senior vice president and general counsel, the position she continues to hold at the present time.
Throughout her career, Elsberry has been active in numerous civic, charitable and bar organizations. She currently serves on the board of the Kansas City Lyric Opera. Her husband, Howard, earned his bachelor of science in business administration from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University), and is president/CEO of Westlake Hardware.
The Elsberrys have three grown children and five grandchildren, all residing in the Kansas City area.
