February 2009―Truman alumni Ryan Brennan ('95) and Randa Rawlins ('79) were recently appointed to the Truman State University Foundation Board of Directors.

Ryan Brennan, of Napa, Calif., is a managing director for Advantage Capital Partners, a group of venture capital partnerships. He leads the company's national expansion team and works nationwide with investors and policy makers promoting capital formation initiatives. In addition, he is an active member of the fundraising and marketing teams.

At Truman, Brennan was a member of Blue Key, Omicron Delta Kappa, Order of Omega, Sigma Phi Epsilon and the Men’s Volleyball Club. He graduated cum laude from Truman in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in political science and was honored as the University’s Young Alumnus of the Year in 2000. He also received an M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Brennan is a Board Member for the Boys and Girls Club of Napa Valley and a Trustee of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Foundation. Most recently, he was director of new site development for a national non-profit leadership organization in Richmond, Va., and previously with Bryan Cave LLC in St. Louis.

●  Randa Rawlins serves as general counsel and corporate secretary at Shelter Insurance Companies in Columbia, Mo. A former chair of the Truman State University Board of Governors, Rawlins currently serves on the Steering Committee for the University's "Bright Minds Bright Futures" Campaign. Honored as Truman's 2007 Alumna of the Year, Rawlins is a member of University's John R. Kirk Society and the President's Circle.

In 1979, Rawlins, a Pershing scholar, received a bachelor of arts from Truman where she was involved in Student Senate and Alpha Sigma Alpha. She earned a juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, and in 2003, the Law School presented her with the Citation of Merit, its most prestigious alumni award.

Rawlins is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, the International Association of Defense Counsel, The American Board of Trial Advocates, the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Women Lawyers Association of Mid-Missouri. She was appointed to serve as a member of the Missouri Supreme Court Civil Rules committee and is a member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She is also active in the Missouri United Methodist Church in Columbia and participates in mission work in Africa.
